More About Jaguar

Jaguar is one of the world's most luxurious and elegant vehicle brands. The British multinational car manufacturer has its headquarters in Coventry, England. It is one of those brands that always evokes sentiments of true British style and sophistication.

The company was founded way back in 1922 as the Swallow Sidecar Company making motorcycle sidecars before developing bodies for motor cars. Later, under the ownership of S. S. Cars Limited, the business branched into making complete cars. After several changes in ownership over the past 100 years, today, the company is known as Jaguar Land Rover.

Jaguar became Britain's ultimate sports car in the late 1940s and by 1951 had won their first Le Mans. In 1961, the marque started building the iconic E-Type, famously driven by celebrities such as Manchester United star George Best, Actor Peter Sellers and even Princess Grace. The car was originally developed as a racing car but the manufacturer put it into production as a road car and Roadster and Fixed-head Coupe (FHC) versions were developed. The E-Type remains one of the most sought-after classic cars to date, selling for exorbitant amounts all over the world to classic car connoisseurs.

At the same time, the company began producing elegant saloons as well. British celebrities and even royalty could be seen being transported in these.

In 1992, the XJ220 became the world's fastest car. However, their other models were dated. Later in the 90s, Jaguar launched the XK8 and XJ - showing that Jaguar still had what it takes. In 2008, Ford sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Indian marque Tata who put Jaguar back on the map with impressive XF, F-Type and XE models.

In 2016, Jaguar launched their first SUV - the beautiful F-Pace. It became their fastest-selling model ever.

The brand will always be associated with elegance and British class, true to its slogan, “The Art of Performance”.
