AutoCity Mahindra Heidelberg have been servicing clients for over 18 years and strive to give you the best deal. General Manager Johann van Heerden and his team strives to provide you with excellent customer service before and after sales.

Autocity Mahindra is a stylish dealership located in the heart of Heidelberg. They stock a wide variety of new Mahindra vehicles. Among them is the stylish TUV300 T8 that I took for a test drive with sales executive Oosie Oosthuizen.

The Exterior

The design of this stylish SUV is inspired by a battle tank. It’s compact, yet it has touch capabilities. The windows are quite large to give drivers optimal visibility on the road. The front grille is bold and has chrome inserts with front fog lights. The door handles, bumpers and rear-view mirrors are body colour which gives the vehicle a common theme. Side footsteps and roof rails come standard.

Interior

The interior is modern and convenient with a height adjustable driver’s seat and lumbar support for the driver and co-driver. The infotainment system includes a display screen with “intellipark” reverse assist, Bluetooth connectivity, USB, AUX and radio. Leg room and overall space is plentiful for a little SUV with a cup holder in the center console, bottle holder on the front and second row doors and even has a storage tray below the driver’s seat.

Essentially, the vehicle is a five-seater, but Mahindra conveniently placed two folded seats in the boot for extra passengers. The boot has a 384-litre capacity and can be expanded to 720-litres. An airbag is located in the steering wheel and in the co-driver’s dashboard. For added safety, the TUV300 has ABS with EBD, a collapsible steering column, side intrusion beams, a seat belt reminder lamp, anti-theft warning and auto door lock while driving.

The interior is well-rounded and convenient. I felt comfortable, safe and stylish on the road.

The Drive

This stylish little SUV has a 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Gears run effortlessly and though it is a diesel, the ride itself is quite smooth. The driver’s armrest is very convenient when changing gears. What I like about the size of the vehicle is that it is big enough to carry enough people and cargo but is small enough to maneuver into and out of smallish spaces.

On offer for this model is a 3 year/100 000km warranty, 3 year/90 000km service plan and 3 year/100 000km roadside assistance. The first service is at 10 000km and has a 20 000km interval thereafter which is evidence of Mahindra’s confidence in their products. Speak to Dealer Principal Douw Bezuidenhout, Sales Manager Pierre Nel or Sales Executive Oosie Oosthuizen for the best deals on their Mahindra vehicles.
