Angles that look dangerously sharp characterise the new Lexus IS saloon. But a modified model set to be displayed at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, proves it can be made sharper.
Lexus teamed with DeviantART to find creatives to make the sedan even edgier. And this IS sport concept will go on show at the automaker’s stand in 10 weeks’ time at the Las Vegas event.
More than 600 submissions for a meaner IS were submitted and entries were narrowed down to 25. The criteria for these top entries? design being “consistent with the image of the Lexus brand originality and potential as an actual executable design”.
The winner’s name is Rob Evans and in addition to having his car made, he’ll also get a Lexus IS-F Sport for a year and a paid-for trip to SEMA. Pictured here too are the renderings of the runners-up.
The four judges were Brian Bolain, Lexus corporate manager marketing communications; Clark Ishihara, VIP AutoSalon president; Nate Martinez, Motor Trend associate online editor; and Alex Shen, Calty Design Research, Inc. studio chief designer.
