The all-new Ecosport is the exciting new edition to the Ford family. In keeping with the bold and dynamic appearance, the rear looks very similar to the older version, but standing face-to-face with the vehicle, you’ll notice the vast modifications Ford has made to the Ecosport design.
The front exterior is beautifully modified with a trapezoidal black grille and angular halogen headlights. In the Ambiente derivative, the door handles and side mirrors are black and double as indicators. The bonnet is chiseled with a central bulge, contributing to its exploratory appearance. There are four colours to choose from in the Ambiente range and include body coloured bumpers. The rear bumper contains parking sensors and is decorated by fog lights.
The Ecosport’s exterior was designed to have a cleaner, more fashioned appearance. This is also reflective in the interior with the redesigned dashboard and upgraded infotainment system. The steering wheel is tilt and telescopically adjustable and includes multifunctional capabilities. Behind the steering wheel is the analogue cluster and trip computer, which is adjustable from the buttons on the steering wheel. The infotainment system on the Ambiente features Bluetooth connectivity, two USB ports and AM/FM radio. The glovebox is conveniently cooled for storage on those warm summer days. An added feature to the infotainment cluster are bigger buttons to decrease distraction when driving.
The Ecosport provides a smooth drive, where one may forget they’re driving a diesel-powered vehicle. Ford specifically designed the Ecosport to block out engine and wind noises, with a sponge-like material in the bonnet to block the engine noise and raised plastic next to the side mirrors to block the wind noise in the cabin. Electric power steering makes maneuvering quite effortless.
Space doesn’t go unnoticed in the Ecosport. The cabin has ample leg room of 1086mm for a comfortable drive – whether a quick stop at the local grocer or a road trip to the coast. The boot floor is height adjustable which allows you to either hide or add more luggage. This height adjustability increases the boot capacity to 333-litres.
With a five-star ANCAP safety rating, you can travel with the ease of knowing you and your loved ones are safe. Additional safety features in the Ecosport include ABS, ISOFIX for the little ones, six airbags and an immobiliser. The frame of the body has also been modified for optimal safety in case of collision.
Ford further has your back with a 4-year/120 000km comprehensive warranty, 4-year/60 000km service plan, 3-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance and a 5-year/unlimited km corrosion warranty.
