When someone mentions Land Rover, you’re not thinking of speed. Until now. The Range Rover Sport SVR has been introduced as Land Rover’s fastest, most powerful model ever.
The SVR has a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine which produces 404kW of power and 680Nm of torque. It is mated with a ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission. The SVR accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds and it has an electronically limited speed of 260km/h. The SVR has also received some new aesthetic upgrades, the interior featuring sports seats. New 21-inch alloy wheels have been thrown in as standard.
It is fitted with permanent four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case, with a low-range option for rougher terrain. Wade Sensing also features on the SVR. It provides depth information when driving through water. It also has towing capability up to 3000kg. Details of the Range Rover Sport arriving in South Africa coming soon.
