The Ford EcoSport – informally known as the Fiesta on steroids – is boosting the automaker’s bottom line in South Africa.

According to Ford’s marketing men, the dainty SUV occupies what was previously a “white space” in their line-up. They’ve attributed its early success to the car’s feature-richness, striking design and technology.
This news might have the Renault camp in worry, as they prepare to launch their Duster compact-SUV this month. We’ll be attending the launch in Cape Town next week.

We’ll be spending time with the EcoSport soon, stay tuned for our impressions, video review and infographic.
