Ford Fiesta – Party in the Front, Party in the Back

Consolidated Auto in Boksburg is well known for often featuring in the top 5 Ford Dealerships across the Country. The incredibly knowledgeable sales manager, Michael, recently asked me to test drive the Ford Fiesta when he found out that I am a motoring journalist, and I was more than happy to oblige: Michael is extremely enthusiastic about the range of Ford vehicles on show at Consolidated Auto, and having served many years focussing on what his client’s want, felt that I would love the unique and fresh-faced Fiesta.

At first glance, the Fiesta definitely proves to be funky and slick – with lovely elongated headlights and a newly-styled aerodynamic rear spoiler, the Fiesta gives off a seriously sleek and speedy appearance. It looks great on the outside, and even my kids found it to be a definite “yes” on the “cool or not” scale. This was underscored by their enjoyment of what they termed the “sportiness” of the car – in more posh terms, the excellent and responsive take-off, kicking out incredible power for such a seemingly-small vehicle. Brent, the enthusiastic salesman at Consolidated Auto tells me that this is thanks to the turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine, that delivers 92 kW of power and 170 Nm of torque – a whopping feat that has earned the amazing Ford engine the accolade of International Engine of the Year for three years consecutively. Added to this noteworthy achievement, is the acknowledgement that the Fiesta boasts a fantastic fuel economy of only 4.9litres/100km.

The fun doesn’t stop there, as I am soon made aware. The ride itself is firm and stable, with great reaction of the vehicle to my directions – at every moment during my drive, I was in full control and aware of everything the vehicle was doing. Corners and turns were smooth and stable, and I found the it to be a most engaging drive that prompted me to feel as though the Fiesta was an extension of me and my quirky nature.

The Fiesta has personality by the bucket-load, and the interior is beautifully suited to its dynamic exterior. The console and dash is modern and conveniently laid out, with all the bells and whistles in terms of audio, vehicle systems feedback, as well as auto headlights and rain-sensing wipers that just seem to feed into the sense of the Fiesta anticipating your every need.

Scoring a 5-star NCAP Safety rating, the Fiesta is built on a boron steel frame that reinforces the body at key points to optimise your safety – as Brent reminded me, the Ford brand always prioritises the drivers and passengers of their vehicles, and thus, the Fiesta is designed to protect and preserve, whilst allowing passengers and drivers the opportunity to experience freedom and fun on the road.

Michael, the ardent Ford-enthusiast Sales Manager at Consolidated Auto, noted that satisfied customers are the lifeblood of their core business, and as such seek to always identify and meet the needs of the customer through quality service and care that is built on courteous relationships and respect. I am as impressed with the great attitude of the team at Consolidated Auto as I am with the nippy, speedy Fiesta, and feel confident that I will be visiting them again soon!
