Whilst fans in Golf GTI eagerly await the performance bumper of the eighth generation early 2021, VWSA is still not finished with the seventh-generation models in the form of the TCR edition which is quite a special swansong.

The Golf GTI TCR will hit the local shore in July, inspired by the race car of the same name, if all goes according to plans, and VWSA has put on the car a cost tag of R669 000. The best thing to order now is that only 300 are delivered to South Africa by the client.

Under the limit, VW claims it was sufficient to get the hatch in only 5,6 seconds from 0-100kph and it is almost a second faster than regular vehicle. The Golf GTI TCR is far from the regular 169kW, with its two-liter turbo gasoline engine at a speed of 213KW and 370Nm. The high-speed limit has also been removed so that it can reach 264 km / h. Power still passes through a dual seven-speed DSG clutch transmission via the front wheels.

There are a lot of special touches that distinguish this edition, including a TCR body kit, 19-inch Reifnitz alloy wheels, Matte Black side mirrors and TCR wave decals. In South Africa only a five-door version is available.

The three exterior colors: Tornado Red, Pure Gray and Pure White are the preference of our guests.

This cabin has a special version number and is distinguished by TCR-specific sports and sport steering wheels. Purchasers shall also be provided with an exclusive TCR keyring, limit and certificate of ownership.
