The Honda Brio Amaze 1.2 Comfort is a sporty-looking, fuel efficient sedan. I’ve had the recent pleasure of test driving this energetic sedan at Honda East Rand Mall with Sales Executive Danny Sibanda, who showed me exactly why one should consider this sedan for a next buy.

The exterior is decorated with large, tapered headlight clusters and body-coloured rear bumpers, door handles and retractable powered side mirrors with indicator lights. A chrome grille and fog lights smile at you as you approach the vehicle, giving you a sense of excitement to drive the vehicle.

I always enjoy the inside of a Honda because of its sporty, comfortable trimmings. Height adjustable seats are always a big plus for me as I like feeling in control of the vehicle I’m driving. Control is one of the main features that I enjoyed about this sedan. The seats and clusters are ergonomically placed for optimal support and comfort. The front and back windows are handily electric.

The infotainment system is fitted with radio, AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity with easily accessible controls located on the multifunctional tilt steering wheel. Cupholders are located in the front center console and in the rear center arm rest. Moving toward the back of the vehicle, the boot has a capacity of 405-litres – which is more than enough space for school bags or travel luggage and can still fit a normal sized spare under the cover.

Safety features include ABS, EBS (Electronic Brake Distribution), driver and passenger airbags, integrated head restraints and pretensioner seatbelts. All these safety features make one feel consciously safe when driving. An immobiliser and central locking can be activated with a remote control on the key.

The Drive

As always, the Honda is a smooth and enjoyable drive. Despite only having a 1.2-Litre i-VTEC engine and a 5-speed automatic gearbox, this sedan boldly moves without any noise and practices control when needed. The handling is both sturdy and flexible when required. This spirited sedan is perfect for any demographic as it has enough room, safety and entertainment for all your driving needs.

The Brio comes with a 5-year/200 000km warranty, 2-year/30 000km service plan and 3-year AA roadside assistance.
