Imperial Honda has exciting dealerships that host a variety of events every few months where they showcase their array of wonderful Honda vehicles and motorcycles. The Honda Jazz is a diverse and attractive looking hatch that’s also a spacious traveling companion. I recently had the pleasure of test driving the Jazz with Sales Executive, Alan La Grange at Imperial Honda.
The Jazz is a serious eye catcher with aggressive lines and curvatures, yet smooth and attractive headlamps in the front and rear of the vehicle. The short projections, narrowing roofline and confident wheel arches affirms its poised and capable stance. The long wheelbase increases the quality, stability and handling of the drive which was evident as Alan and I made our way around the East Rand Mall area. Honda went the extra mile to improve the looks of the Jazz with the chrome grille and sharp features.
Once inside the car, it is evident that Honda increased the size of the windscreen to boost driver visibility on the road. As I switched on the ignition, the chrome trimmings and colour switches grabbed my attention, urging me to start driving. The multi-informational driver display provides you with all the details of the vehicle, your trip and fuel consumption. The infotainment system includes Bluetooth connectivity, USB, AUX and AM/FM Radio – all of which are accessible on the multifunctional steering wheel.
In terms of space, the second row has Honda’s “Magic Seats” which fold down completely flat, allowing a whopping 881-litres of luggage into the vehicle! With the seats up, you have 363-litres of loading space – which is extremely competitive for a hatchback. Adding to its versatility is a large cabin and enhanced rear legroom.
Safety was top-of-mind when developing the Jazz with ABS and Emergency Brake-Force Distribution which assists in sudden braking. These safety features are complemented by Emergency Stop Signals (Auto Hazards) which automatically switch on in an emergency.
The front seats have integrated Whiplash Mitigation which absorb impact, keeping the driver and front passenger safe. This, along with the Advanced Capability Engineering will absorb and deflect impact caused by a collision, keeping you and your passengers as safe as possible. Furthermore, additional safety features include fog lights for optimal visibility, Vehicle Stability Assist and Hill Start Assist.
Providing a rather pleasant drive, the CVT-transmission switches gears effortlessly. And, the steering wheel is the perfect size for a comfortable drive. Personally, I always appreciate the sporty lines and curves that Honda adds to their vehicles, and these were as evident as always in the Jazz. I would recommend the Jazz to anyone who would like a spacious, fuel efficient and stylish vehicle.
