Meet the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse. Lamborghini says it delivers race track emotion directly to the road.
Race car drivers always look stressed and sweaty. But flushed cheeks and disheveled could be the smallest consequences to pay for ownership. You know it won’t be cheap.
It’s based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo, the race car from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, a one-make race series. Squadra Corse refers refers to the newly-founded department in Lamborghini, which tends to all the brand’s racing activities.
Aluminium and carbon fibre has been used heavily. It’s got a dry weight of 1340 kilogrammes. And it’ll go to 100km/h from standstill in 3.4 seconds. Top speed is rated at 320km/h.
Prepare to shake the neighbourhood; Lamborghini claims its car’s V10 (419kW) firing order “delivers the striking sound you hear in motor racing”. It also has all-wheel drive.
Although the interior boasts racing bucket seats you can specify “comfort” seats instead. There’s carbon fibre everywhere – from the hanbdrake frame to the lower rim of the steering wheel.
It’ll make its world premier at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
