In true Citroen style, the new Picasso people-mover is going to be a futuristic machine. The French automaker announced first details of their seven-seat Grand Picasso – which is bigger, but lighter and employs a new platform.
Inside, Citroen describes a loft-like ambience. There’s a seven-inch touchscreen interface complemented by a 12-inch panoramic screen and much like you’d find on some high-end German models, a camera system which offers a 360-degree view.
Safety has also been given a boost. Citroen is offering the C4 with adaptive cruise control, an anti-collision warning system, lane-keep assist and a blind-spot detection system which relies on ultrasonic technology. Space-ship like technology for a car that looks like an intergalactic cruiser.
On the outside it’s a far cry from the bulbous first-generation Picasso. You might even describe this one as more classy than quirky. Slick turbine wheels, large windows, front and rear LED lights give it a futuristic air.
