“Unfortunately we have no information on the new Mazda 3 at this time,” said Ford of South Africa spokeswoman, Rella Bernardes. “There is no confirmation on its arrival or timing,” Bernardes explained.
It was recently announced that Ford Motor Company South Africa and Mazda Motor Corporation would become separate entities, with a transition period estimated at approximately one year.
The new 3 features sharper styling typical of recent Mazda products. And it’s available in hatchback and sedan guises. The newcomer is lighter than the one it replaces, it’s longer, lower and wider too.
Interior-wise, that means better legroom and it also has a new interface apt named Human-Machine Interface (HMI), which integrates Facebook and Twitter feeds. Of course, no details of engine offerings for our market have been announced. But in markets abroad, it’ll be offered with three petrol engines (normally-aspirated) and one turbocharged-diesel engine.
