Centurion is a bustling hub which has become popular for the motoring enthusiast and vehicle shopping families to visit. With many gorgeous vehicles forming part of the daily commute in and out of the city, Centurion boasts a Dealership that has been firmly rooted in the history of the Centurion area. Going back 22 years, Subaru Centurion has made a name for itself for their dedication to showing off the magnificent and unique Subaru products and services.
Having grown on me as a Dealership that promotes knowledgeable and professional team work from its staff, there is a definite drive towards a superb work ethic. This is relayed to clients in the way in which they are treated and with services provided. Sales Manager Casper Grobler reminds me that the Subaru philosophy hinges on the enjoyment and peace of mind they offer their clients with every adventure that comes along the way, thanks to the incredible design of the Subaru fleet.
None more so than the Subaru Outback, a massively popular Touring Wagon. The design of the Outback rests on the idea that this vehicle represents the “sum of all things” which includes practicality, the ability to adventure, as well as family-oriented sensibility, built around a performance-grounded framework.
The bold and distinctive look of the Outback relays a sense of confidence and a solid, sturdy stance that gives the impression that there isn’t much that phases this vehicle. I particularly enjoy the resemblance of the front of the Outback to a performance-vehicle or sedan, whilst the back end of the vehicle has the grounded, spacious look of a family SUV. With ample space in terms of head and leg-room both in the front and rear of the vehicle, the Outback is the perfect car for bigger families or the doting mom, thanks to its raised estate-body shape. As a family woman, I love the 512 litre boot which can be increased to a ridiculous 1801 litres with the rear seats folded down – which beats many competing vehicles in this segment hands down. I feel this would work fantastically for long trips and vacations, but would also work like a charm for my large-breed dogs who will find the low loading sill easy to navigate.
One cannot speak of Subaru without speaking of safety: this has always been my biggest drawcard to the brand, as they are well-known for their commitment to ensuring passengers and drivers alike, are safe and secure. With the Outback, Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are standard features. Besides a host of electronic features that enhance safety, the body of the vehicle itself is comprised of high-tensile-strength steel, which is designed to redirect impact around the passenger zone, and in doing so, minimise injuries to the passengers. A whopping seven airbags and a rollover sensor are also standard features, the latter of which assists with most efficient deployment of airbags when needed. As a mom and wife, I can fervently note that this vehicle offers substantial peace of mind in terms of keeping your loved-ones safe and would most certainly make it onto my list of must-drive vehicles.
The luxurious interior is wrapped in high-quality finishes and attention to detail. One wouldn’t immediately suspect the primary function of the cockpit is to be user-friendly and functional, because it has been so beautifully laid out. A comprehensive infotainment system, multifunction steering-wheel and Siri-Eyes-Free are designed to keep you focussed on your journey without removing your eyes from the road. A 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is part of the standard on-board treats (which I love, as my life comes with its own soundtrack, being Indian and all). The interior looks great and seems conveniently laid-out in a user-friendly manner.
Subaru vehicles, as I have now come to expect of them, have the benefit of being powered by the unique Boxer® engine which provides enhanced power output and a smooth, well-balanced driving experience. With a Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, power output is fed in equal measure between front and rear axles as well as alternate sides of the car, meaning that each wheel provides the best possible grip and power as needed, in multiple terrain types.
Once again on home turf at the Dealership, Casper mentions to me that not only are the Outback models available as new, but there are also excellent pre-owned vehicles which the Dealership subjects to stringent quality assurance checks prior to release for resale. This would not only make a valuable addition to your family, but would be a worthy investment in terms of affordability. Subaru Centurion also boasts a superb workshop and parts division that will ensure your vehicle – and you as the client – are always looked after.
The Outback remains one of the most capable vehicles I have personally reviewed and is worth driving to understand the level of comfort and safety you are being presented with. Hosted by Subaru Centurion in their magnificent Dealership, the Outback and other Subaru vehicles are displayed in all their intricate details on their website. With impeccable knowledge on every vehicle in their catalogue, as well as excellent customer service, Subaru Centurion are the epitome of the slogan “Confidence in Motion”.
