The Volkswagen Passat and CC saloons have never been exciting. Solid and dependable certainly – but never ones to up the pulse.
In a bid to add some fizz to their personalities, Volkswagen has made the R-Line package available as an optional extra.
It will cost you R12 250 on the CC, while you’ll pay R10 200 if you want your Passat decked-out with the more aggressive bits.
The CC gets a redesigned front bumper, individualised side sills and 18-inch alloy wheels in “Mallory” design. R-Line logos are sprinkled on the radiator grille. It also gets a three-spoke steering wheel, with the R-Line logo.
It’s the same story with the Passat. Except there’s a rear diffuser in black and an integrated rear spoiler. It has the same “Mallory” alloy wheels, with a slightly smaller diameter at 17 inches.
A Volkswagen CC 2.0 TDI goes for R404 800. The 2.0 TSI is R426 00 and the 3.2 FSI V6 is R504 500. Passat prices start off at R330 200 for the 1.8TSI. The 2.0 TDI is R346 900 and the DSG version is R361 900.
