More About The Mercedes C-Class

Class by name; classy by nature. The German automaker first launched the C-Class to compete with BMW's 3-series range in the compact executive sedan market segment. Since 1993 there have been five versions of the C-Class - each one more dazzling than its predecessor.

The German marque is known not only for its luxury but for the reliability of its vehicles. You would not be shocked to see the first generation 1995 C-Class Merc on the road today. These cars are built to last. The German marque is known not only for its luxury but for the reliability of its vehicles. You would not be shocked to see the first generation 1995 C-Class Merc on the road today. These cars are built to last.

The C-Class has been produced in a four-door sedan, five-door station wagon, two-door coupe and three-door hatchback variants over the years.

The second-generation boasted a range of inline-four and V6 petrol engines and inline-four and -five diesels, later the V6 diesel. The C320 offered the powerful 160 kW (215 hp; 218 PS) while the diesel models featured common rail direct fuel injection and variable geometry turbochargers. The 2012 facelift featured new LED taillights, a revised dashboard and instrument cluster layout, and revised front fascia and headlights.

The current generation features a new, lighter structure using aluminium and high strength steel extensively throughout the car, making it 100kg lighter. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class 205 chassis spawned four C-Class body styles: sedan, wagon, coupe, and cabriolet.

Buyers of pre-owned Mercedes C-Class tend to prefer AMG models for their performance. Whichever you choose, make sure to get it inspected by an experienced Mercedes mechanic. Ageing German cars can be expensive to repair.
