Toyota Camry For Sale
The Toyota Camry for sale is one of the stalwart offerings from the Japanese manufacturer’s stable and a very familiar family car on South African roads. It has a long history, first models, the narrow body, launched in 1982. Four-door sedan with a roomy boot has been around for quite a while. The typical boxy shape of the 80's made way and evolved as trends and Toyota's own design language evolved. It is not impossible to find first and second-generation Camry's still out on the road.
During the 1990s the Toyota Camry for sale was especially popular in South Africa. The V30 that was produced between 1990 and 1994 with its sloping nose, elongated headlights, and wide-body it was a family favourite in South Africa. The wide-body XV10 (manufactured from 1991 – 1996) is perhaps the most familiar on our roads.
Fast-forward to the 2000s and the youngest on offer on the South African second-hand market, the used Toyota Camry for sale. Rumoured to be the ugly stepsister of the Lexus flagship, the Xli claimed the market because of price, but also a couple of welcome upgrades and additions.
Significantly so, the exteriors design. The Xli follows an interesting design trend of the Japanese auto manufacturers that hints at 'Transformer'- like proportions. The car is low and broad, with a pronounced nose and a presence on the road. It does however give a feeling of bulky sluggishness, but rather a utilitarian comfort. The family sedan has graduated to a new level in terms of tech upgrades but is a vehicle for those who don't seek to buy a car to make an impression.
Apart from the price tag, the interior is another feather in its cap. The Xli is huge. The interior is practical, though comfortable. The driver’s seat is adjustable and front and back seats have more than enough space to provide a comfortable long drive even for tall adult passengers. Three people could easily fit in the back and cooling vents for the back seat to ensure extra comfort. A centre folding armrest with built-in cup holders provides extra comfort.
The boot is massive at 456litres and can be expanded by folding down the back-seats which can fold down in a 60:40 split. This will provide you an enormous cargo space of 1 248 litres.
The fascia is designed to make space for the storage compartment underneath it. In higher trim levels, satellite audio controls are fitted on the steering wheel. Standard features include air-conditioning, electric mirrors and windows, central locking, a trip computer, radio and CD player, cruise control, airbags, and Isofix seat anchors.
The XLi is available as a 2,4litre multi-valve engine with a 5-speed gearbox – manual or automatic. Despite its pedestrian looks, the used Toyota Camry for sale performs well with a top speed of 210km per hour and 1 0 – 100km/hour speed of 10,02 seconds. Fuel economy clocks at an average of 10,58litres per 100km.
