Toyota Supra For Sale
The Toyota Supra for sale has been in production since 1978. It is a sports car and grand tourer and the first four-generation was not available in South Africa. A pity to collectors, the flat and fast-looking early used Toyota Supra for sale resembles the style of the time, like the Lotus Espri.
The fifth-generation is assembled alongside the BMW Z4 in Austria and the European influence is showing. While fans of Toyota is not a hundred percent happy that this new offering is not a pureblood, especially because Toyota has a full racing division with all the expertise to build a technologically advanced high-performance vehicle. All this aside, the new Supra is definitely a head-turner. The external design is unique and sure to make an impression. The front design sports elongated flat headlights with side air vents and massive air intakes in the bumper with a pointy nose and smooth curves. The side design emphasises the centre of gravity with interesting curves and silhouette. Though the European influence is undeniable, the Supra is a true sports car and can hold its own.
The interior matches the exterior; plush leather, hand-stitched detail, plastic chrome finishes, and a focussed and well-designed fascia and steering wheel. Sports car seats are comfortable and all the dials and knobs are positioned for driver comfort. It is a beautiful vehicle inside and out and a very good competitor compared to the luxury brands on offer.
The Supra hides a 3litre 6-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood and produces 250kW power and 500Nm torque. The gearshifts are responsive and the engine produces a satisfying road. While it shares this engine with BMW, the existing Toyota six-cylinder engine will not pass emission standards.
Although hardcore fans might be miffed with the new Toyota Supra for sale, partnership and part sharing is becoming a reality for more manufacturers. It is cost-saving and innovative. Mazda and Ford have been doing it for years and Opel and Peugeot together with Toyota has produced the Aygo. The used Toyota Supra for sale is still enough Toyota to not make it a rip-off BMW. Critics feel that the Supra is superior in terms of sports car ability to the BMW Z4, which feels more like a cruiser than a nippy sports car. Combined fuel consumption is around 11km per litre, depending on how quickly the driver is roaring through the gears.
