More About The Renault Sandero

The Renault Sandero is considered an entry-level car and is one of the safest of these on the road. The French marque is renowned for its safety features and this model maintains that superb reputation with its 3-star safety rating for adults and 4stars for child occupants when it was tested by Global NCAP in 2017.

This is an ideal run-around with plenty of space for four passengers and luggage - although adults may feel a bit cramped in the rear seat.

Inside the cabin, you'll enjoy a 7-inch Multimedia touchscreen, FM/AM tuner, integrated navigation, Bluetooth® audio streaming and hands-free calls, voice control and vehicle applications (in the TechRoad model only)

The Expression model comes with Radio-CD MP3 with Jack and USB ports, Bluetooth® and satellite controls.

Renault's Hill-start assist is an absolute blessing for those of us who struggle on incline starts and the cruise control in the TechRoad model makes longer drives a breeze.

This chic French hatch is also available in Stepway (crossover) guise. In fact, Stepway models are the only ones now available for sale new. The Renault Sandero 66kW Turbo Stepway Expression and the flagship 66kW Stepway Turbo TechRoad model are still available out-the-box.

The Renault Sandero was relaunched in 2014 and production was moved from South Africa to Romania. Post-2014 models are considered far superior with one major change: the dreaded cambelt service was now a thing of the past and the engine now uses timing chains that don't need to be replaced. The newer Renault Sandero makes use of the 66 kW / 135 Nm 0.9-litre turbocharged three-cylinder motor as seen in the Renault Clio.
