More About The Chevrolet Utility

The Chevrolet Utility is a hard-working bakkie on the outside with a comfortable interior - making it a great city car for someone who needs the load space for work or plays but wants to have a comfortable and stylish ride at the same time. It is currently available in Base, Club and Sport versions. Its styling is modern and sleek while remaining undeniably Chevrolet. The front shows off a dual-port grille leading to dramatic exterior lines.

The Chevrolet Utility is a modern and economical little bakkie that hits the perfect balance of reliability and workhorse ability with trendy looks. It is available in a 1.4L and 1.8L petrol and 1.3L Turbo-Diesel engine. The 1.4-litre provides fuel economy of 7.2l/100km and power of 68kW/120Nm.

The Chevrolet Utility was known in SA as the Opel Corsa Utility before 2010. This bakkie originated in Brazil, where it was marketed as a Chevrolet Montana. Both the Opel Corsa Utility and then the Chevrolet Utility were assembled from CKD kits (Completely Knocked Down, dismantled) shipped from Brazil.

Before GM left South Africa in 2017, the Chevrolet Utility was SA's top-selling three quarter tonne bakkie. The American marque left the country in 2017 following a global mandate of trading exclusively in left-hand drive territories. However, there are numerous aftersales providers for the owners of Chevrolet vehicles, so acquiring parts is not a problem.
