Single Cab Bakkie

Bakkie is a colloquial South Africanism for a pickup or utility vehicle with an open load area – not to be confused with its Afrikaans origin, meaning small bowl or tub. The bakkie is an extremely popular car in SA due its versatility, ruggedness (which is tested daily on local roads) and ability to perform in difficult conditions. Most bakkies in SA have a half-ton or one-ton load capacity.  The top-selling single-cab bakkies in SA are Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, Nissan NP200 and Toyota Hilux.
