The Honda HR-V for sale is the subcompact crossover SUV offering by the Japanese manufacturer. Though the second and third-generation (2006 – 2013) are more familiar in South Africa, the first Honda HR-V’s were launched in 1999 and the first and second generations were produced until 2006. Disappearing for a while, the redesigned and updated Honda HR-V second generation was released in 2006. The five-door hatchback is a family and recreational vehicle but has proven to not be that popular with the local market. With a brand new offering in 2019/2020, Honda has once again attempted to revive its following in the sub-compact category. There are quite a number of used Honda HR-V for sale in the market due to its long history.

The external design has evolved quite a bit from the first boxy shaped vehicle of the '90s. The Honda H-RV Elegance 1,8 (2019 model) has been updated both on looks and performance. The external design is fashionable and sporty enough to appeal to a younger status conscious market but sturdy enough to draw the crowd looking for a dependable small family SUV. Rounded curves, bold headlights, cheeky back-side and aerodynamic silhouette paired with a range of bold colours positions the HR-V cars for sale in a highly competitive space. It is not a low-end vehicle but in a good second-hand condition, still reliable as is expected from the Honda brand.

Honda HR-V’s for sale offers an interior elegance to match the outside. The infotainment screen is entry level with more competitive options out there, but the menu is easy to navigate and understand. It does support smartphone and Bluetooth connectivity with USB ports. Although this is situated at an unexpected position. The cabin is spacious and upmarket, all-leather upholstery, and can seat 5 people at acceptable comfort. The cargo space at the back is around 393litres and when the rear seats are folded down increases to 1002litres. A used HR-V for sale might not have all the appeal for the tech-minded, but it is a good value-for-money SUV option.

The Honda HR-V 1,8 Elegance is fitted with a 1,8 litre petrol engine that produces 105kW of power. At around 1275kg, the engine output is more than adequate for a comfortable and confident ride. The 1,8 engine is paired with a continuously Variable Transmission gearbox that seems to be adequate. Despite its sporty looks, the Honda HR-V cars for sale was not built to tear up the tar, it is in essence a family vehicle and if driven with that purpose serves its driver well. It is durable, dependable, and solid with enough attention given to aesthetics. Combined fuel consumption is between 7 and 8 litres per 100km for combined use, which is quite good for a vehicle of its size. Honda HR-V for sale might surprise, especially if it was well looked after.
