Hyundai Azera Cars For Sale

The Hyundai Azera car is marketed under various names; also known as the Grandeur and has been on the market since 1986. Considered the flagship car for the South Korean manufacturer until the release for the Hyundai Dynasty in 1996, it is still in production and currently in its fifth generation. Available in South Africa since the early 2000s, there are a number of generations available on the second-hand market.

The Azera, being a flagship, is an executive sedan. The fourth-generation (2006 – 2011) is a good benchmark for second-hand vehicles for sale in South Africa. Classified as a mid-size sedan, the external design, technology, and finishes have seen quite a lot of evolution and improvement since its first launch. The most expensive Hyundai model for sale on the international market at the time, it is still extremely affordable and the perfect solution for a consumer wanting a bigger, more stately vehicle without paying a German manufacture price-tag.

The external design hints at more European style luxury sedans, with fluid lines, smooth surfaces, and understated metallic body paint. With a strong resemblance to the Sonata, the used Hyundai Azera for sale emulates a new design language that has since been matured. Xenon headlights, seventeen-inch alloy wheels, and dual exhaust pipes all add to an image of style and presence.

The Interior shows elements of upgraded refinement from previous models. Sound-proofing has been upgraded and the instrument panel has a high-performance feel with high quality, but user-friendly trims in the cabin. Entry-level specs include dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable seats, mirrors, and steering column, satellite radio, cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, and automatic sensors for headlights and windscreen wipers amongst other refinements. Hyundai most definitely offers more creature comforts than luxury brands on their entry-level trims. The interior is spacious and dotted with storage options. The boot has a 469-liter capacity.

Handling is comparatively smooth and easy and the Azera’s four-wheel independent suspension makes for a smooth journey. At almost 5m long and more than 1,8m wide, the 3.3litre V6 engine packs the necessary punch clocking 0 – 100km in 7,8 seconds. Paired with a five-speed electronically controlled automatic gearbox it ensures a confident drive. Combined fuel consumption is around 10litre per 100km.
