Toyota Conquest For Sale

Our selection of Toyota Conquest cars for sale is the familiar and well-loved hatchback version of the Toyota Corolla. It was only known in South Africa as the Conquest and was locally manufactured alongside the Tazz and Carri from 1988 to 2006.

Although the Toyota Corolla is also a household name, our selection used Toyota Conquest cars for sale is the sixth generation hatchback offering from the Corolla stable. A four-door hatchback with a familiar rounded back. The 1988 model was produced with a 1,3litre engine and q.6 litre. Also available in a twin-cam configuration and known as the RSi Hatchback. The entry-level Conquest Tazz was first launched in 1996 with the first car owner and entry-level market in mind. The basic model was released with the minimum equipment and a 1,3litre engine was matched with a four-speed manual gearbox. During the early 2000s, the Tazz was given a subtle facelift to stay relevant design-wise. The newer generation was also available with a 1,6litre engine.

The 1986 Conquest RSi remains one of the most popular and successful offerings from the South African Toyota plant. The instantly recognisable angular shape (as supposed to the more rounded later versions), sported extra's that the entry-level vehicle did not. Leather-covered steering and hand-stitched gear leaver, design changes for more aerodynamic performance in the bumpers and faster than the 1,8 V8 Golf GTI, the Conquest RSi quickly became the stuff of legends, especially with the Castro 6-hour Endurance rave where the Conquest team famously beat the GTI Golf, Opel, BMG and Alfa.

Our used Toyota Conquest cars for sale is the perfect student car if you are not too fashion conscious. It is basic, user-friendly, and very economical. The interior is styled with very durable fabric and hard plastics, but don't expect luxuries. You might find one here and there with an air conditioning system, but then it is a 1990’s 1300 engine. Turning up the AC has a definite effect on power usage.

The seats are comfortable enough and our selection of Toyota Conquest cars for sale is perfect for city driving. No wonder it is still a favourite with delivery fleets. The back seat is reasonably comfortable for medium-sized adults, the taller passengers might be slightly cramped. Cargo space is surprisingly adequate, especially when the backseats are folded down to maximize space.

It is an economical vehicle to maintain and fuel consumption is around 9 litres per 100km, which obviously increases with the RSi models and heavier drivers.
